Packard Bell founder sells for $19.9M on Central Park West

Beny Alagem and Adele Alagem sold a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath condo at 15 Central Park W. in Lincoln Square to GBL Management LLC for $19.9 million on Sept. 30.

The Alagems bought Unit #15B for $15.4 million in April 2008.

Mr. Alagem, a former Israeli tank driver, is the founder of Packard Bell Electronics, a leading computer manufacturer in the late 1980's and early 1990's. He launched the company in 1986 and merged it with NEC a decade later. He left the company in 1998.

He has also ventured into real estate, having bought the Beverly Hilton Hotel in 2003 and the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort in 2006. He is currently the chairman, president and CEO of Oasis Group Inc., which owns the Beverly Hilton.

The development at 15 Central Park W., which was built in 2005, consists of two towers featuring a total of 405 units.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 247 condo sales in Lincoln Square during the past 12 months, with median sales price of $1.125 million.
