Painter, hedge fund pro pocket $1.05M on E. 55th St.

Carlyle Chaudruc and David S. Upson, III, sold their condo at 333 E. 55th St. in Midtown East/Turtle Bay to Steve O'Brien and Cathy C. O'Brien for $1.049 million on Jan. 28.

Unit #5ABK is one of 114 units in the building, which dates back to 1962.

Chaudruc is a watercolorist in New York. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Europe and the Virgin Islands. She earned her degree in art history and economics from Smith College, and she studied painting at New York University and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

She earned her master’s in international affairs from Columbia University in New York City.

Upson is the director of hedge fund research, managing director and partner at CTC Consulting, Inc., an investment consulting firm in New York City. He's also worked for the Fairfield Greenwich Group, Denali Asset Management and Alpha Investment Management.

He earned his degree in economics from Colgate University.

There were 447 condo sales in Midtown East/Turtle Bay in 2008, with a median sales price of $785,000.
