Baryshnikov is considered one of the greatest ballet dancers of the 20th century. Born and raised in the Soviet Union, he began his career with the famed Bolshoi Ballet before moving to the U.S. during the 1970s. He joined the New York City Ballet as a principal dancer and went on to become the artistic director of the New York-based American Ballet Theater.
He's also worked with the White Oak Dance Project, and formed the Baryshnikov Arts Centre in New York in 2004.
He's also delved into acting aside from his live television ballet performances, most notably as Aleksandr Petrovsky, a Russian artist who wooed Sarah Jessica Parker's lead character for nine episodes during the 2003-04 seasons of the hit HBO series "Sex and the City." He also dated Oscar-winning actress Jessica Lange during the 1980s.
He holds honorary degrees from Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University, New York University and Montclair State University.
Rinehart is a ballet dancer for the American Ballet Theater.
There were 367 condo sales on the Upper West Side in 2008, with a median price of $736,250.
