Fabien Bitan bought a one-bedroom, one-bath condo at 1255 Fifth Ave. in East Harlem from Nancy A. Hill for $725,000 on March 18.

The 700-square-foot condo, Unit #4C, is one of the 59 units in the eight-story condo development at 1255 Fifth Condominium development, which was built in 1925.

Dr. Bitan is an orthopaedic spine surgeon in private practice in Manhattan. He serves as the director of spine surgery services at Lenox Hill Hospital. He earned his medical degree and his board certification in orthopedic surgery in Paris, France. He is affiliated with Manhattan Orthopaedics. He has been the chief surgeon at The "Institut Calot" where he designed the "Cotrel-Dubousset Instrumentation" in the mid-eighties. He also practiced spine surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Paris, France from 1989 to 1996. He specialized in Spine Deformities on pediatric and adult patients.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 24 condo sales in East Harlem during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $762,500.
