HSBC director sells for $3.3M in City Spire

Kurt Overley and Maria E. Artiaga sold a condo at 150 W. 56th St. in Midtown/Midtown South for $3.3 million to Lloyd Putter and his wife, Sherry, on July 10.

Overley paid $2.2 million for Unit #6304 in May 2006.

Overley serves as managing director, head of structured fund origination as well as head of structured fund products for the Americas at HSBC. He was appointed the position in June 2007.

Prior to joining HSBC, Overley worked at BNP Paribas, where he ultimately served as managing director and co-head of structured fund derivatives marketing. Before joining Paribas, Overley was employed at Zurich Capital Markets as managing director and head of structured products group.

Overley has a B.S. in mathematics and physics from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif., and a Ph.D in mathematical science from Rice University in Houston.

The 73-story City Spire was built in 1988 and houses 339 units.

Condo sales in Midtown/Midtown South rose15 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also jumped from $850,000 to $1.2 million during the same period.

Sales in The City Spire were down 27 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price however, rose from $920,000 in 2006 to $962,500 last year.
